Textural rubbings were selectively placed in shapes and specific directions to create a composition that had movement and a sense of space. The goal was to create this space and movement by applying previous knowledge of linear direction. Value scales created within the rubbings provided a range of tones that inspired the possibilities for the composition and depth.
